Carlinhos Brown is music

Utilizing multiple modes of expression, the artist is singer, composer, producer, arranger, researcher and musical instigator.

As a musician, Carlinhos has played in the bands of important artists such as João Gilberto, Caetano Veloso, João Bosco and Djavan.

As a composer, he has written more than 400 songs recorded by renowned singers such as Maria Bethânia, Gal Costa, Cássia Eller, Nando Reis, Arnaldo Antunes, Marisa Monte, Rita Lee, Ney Matogrosso, amongst many others.

In addition to solo albums and DVDs, his discography includes four collaborative albums. He has produced Margareth Menezes, Timbalada (11 CDs), Arnaldo Antunes and Tribalistas.Through research, he has been able to recover traditional Candomblé songs resulting in the Candombless CD, which mixes tradition with contemporary music.

He has also performed internationally with Black Eyed Peas, Carlos Santana, Ricky Martin, Lee Ritenour, Bill Laswell, Wayne Shorter, Jovanotti, Sergio Mendes, Angelique Kidjo, Miyazawa Kazufumi, Omara Portuondo and Ornella Vanoni.

Carlinhos Brown’s musical productions also include sound tracks, film themes, soap operas, TV series, games and dance performances.
